Abstract
The Nanjinshan gold deposit is one of the most important gold deposits in western China. It occurs in the epimetamorphic marine pyroclastic rocks of the Lower Carboniferous Baishan Formation. Based on the 40Ar/ 39Ar isotopic age dating on the sericite, which formed during the ore-forming, two age data were obtained, which are 250.6±2.8Ma and 232.7±4.1Ma, respectively. It indicates that the Nanjinshan gold deposit experienced two stages of ore-forming process.
