Abstract

[Objective]The current experiment was conducted to study the effects of different nitrogen application rates on nitrogen accumulation and leaf quality of flue-cured tobacco planting in high organic tobacco soil. [Method]In field test, 3 treatments viz., the control(0 kg/ha N), T1(82.5 kg/ha N)and T2(105 kg/ha N)were designed to determine nitrogen accumulation and the quality of flue-cured tobacco leaf. [Result]Compared to the control, nitrogen accumulation in roots of T2 and T1 treatments rose by 35.08 and 17.76%, respectively. The more nitrogen application rates was, the higher accumulation was in tobacco leaves. No significant difference was found between the low nitrogen rate treatment and the control, whereas the nitrogen accumulation in leaves of high nitrogen rate treatment was significantly higher than that of the control. Under the high nitrogen rate treatment, the proportion of nitrogen allocation in the middle and lower leaves was increased and that in the upper leaves was decreased. The high nitrogen rate treatment proved to be best in decreasing chlorine content and increasing potassium content in tobacco leaves. [Conclusion]In high organic tobacco soil of Guizhou Province, applying nitrogen at the high rate of 105 kg/ha could increase nitrogen accumulation in flue-cured tobacco leaves and produce best tobacco leaves.
