Abstract

The influence of fiber nonlinear-effects on the capacity-expanding of the fiber backbone networks by the means of WDM+EDFA is systematically analyzed. The relationships among the threshold power, channel numbers, channel spacing and the cascaded EDFA numbers under the influence of fiber nonlinear-effects are obtained in condition with the equal spacing channel. The results show that FWM, XMP and SRS respectively take different effect under the different channel numbers and spacing;the input power of each channel must be less than a certain value to realize the WDM+EDFA technology.
