Abstract
Objective To evaluate academic level and quality of Chinese Journal of Virology.Methods According to information of Chinese Medical Citation Index(CMCI),the citation situation of originals in Chinese Journal of Virology cited by journals included by CMCI was analyzed and evaluated.Results The average cited percentage of papers in all the published articles was 47.98% during the year 2001 to 2005.The average times cited of an original article was 2.75 and the top one was 24.There were 40 articles which were cited 4 times or more,and the times of citation from them were 293(21.05% of the total articles,and 55.92% of the total times cited).190 cited articles were written by 168 authors.The number of the articles which were written by the same author and cited was 4 at most.The authors with one cited paper were 149,accounting for 88.69% of all the authors.Chinese Journal of Virology was cited by 137 journals and self-citation rate was 14.18%.Conclusion Articles published by Chinese Journal of Virology are of high qualities.A research system with unique style and character is formed.Chinese Journal of Virology is one of the most important information resources for the virology researchers and one of the most important medical journals in China.
