Abstract

Objective: To investigate the changes of IL-1β and IL-1RⅠ in pulmonary fibrosis induced by bleomycin in rats. Methods: The pulmonary fibrosis model was established by intratracheal injection of bleomycin with rats, set the normal group, the model group and the methylprednisolone group. The rats were killed on the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 14th and 28th day after treatment separately. The changes of biopsy of the lung tissue in every stage were investigated, the contents of IL-1 β and IL-1RⅠ in BALF and blood serum were tested. Results: In the early period of pulmonary fibrosis, the inflammation in alveolar was obvious in the model group, while the lung tissue occurred consolidation at last. IL-1 β in BALF and blood serum achieved peak on the 7th day, which was decreased markedly on the 14th day, and down to the normal level almost on the 28th day. While the expression pattern of IL-1RⅠ was similar to that of IL-1β. Conclusion: IL-1β and IL-1RⅠ in pulmonary fibrosis raise to the peak early and briefly, and play an important role in the earlier period of pulmonary fibrosis.
