Repair of nasal septal perforation with surrounding mucosa

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the efficacy of nasal septum perforation repair with the method of turning mucosa surrounding the perforation.METHODS 17 cases of chronic nasal septal perforation were repaired by turning mucosa surrounding the perforation.The effect of repair was evaluated under endoscope.RESULTS 17 cases of chronic nasal septum perforation were repaired.The patients were followed up from 2 months to 12 months.A small perforation occurred in 1 cases 2 weeks after the surgery,no reperforations were found in the other patients.CONCLUSION Turning the surrounding mucosa to mend the perforation of nasal spetum is efficient and recommendable.
