Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of nursing-guided family cognitive training on patients with senile dementia. Methods Sixty patients were selected and divided into two groups, with 30 patients in each group. The observation group received the nursing method of this study and the control group received the conventional nursing, such as psychological nursing, daily life nursing and drug treatment nursing. The intelligence and ability of life before and after treatment of both groups were evaluated and the nursing accidents of both groups were analyzed statistically. Results The MMSE and ADL scores of the observation group after nursing intervention were significantly higher than those before nursing intervention(P 0.05)and were also higher than those of the control group after nursing intervention(P 0.05);The observation group was significantly lower than the control group in the occurrences of regurgitation and aspiration, wrong administration of drugs, falls, wandering away and behavioral disorders (P 0.05). Conclusion Effective nursing-guided family cognitive training can improve the patient’s intelligence and ability of life and reduce the incidence of adverse nursing events, thereby worthy of promotion.
