Abstract
Osteoprotegerin(OPG) is a physiological cytokine inhibiting bone resorption resulting from osteoclast, while Osteoprotegerin ligand(OPGL) is a cytokine which can directly induce osteoclast differentiation and development as well as mediate function regulation of osteoclast.Periodontal ligament(PDL) cells express both OPGL and OPG which suggested that it may mediate alveolar bone metabolism in orthodontic tooth movement by OPG/OPGL system.OPG and OPGL have great potentiality in many kinds of bone diseases and orthodontic treatment and have good clinical application future.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
