Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of nebulized budesonide plus ribavirin in the treatment of children with bronchiolitis. Methods Eighty-four children with bronchiolitis from January 2011 to December 2012 were randomly divided into the observation group and control group, with 42 cases in each group. Patients in observation group were treated with nebulized budesonide plus ribavirin, while patients in control group were treated with nebulized ribavirin alone. The clinical efficiency and side effects were observed and compared between the two groups after a course of treatment. Results The disappearance times of coughing, wheezing, pulmonary rale in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P 0.05), and the total efficiency of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (92.86% vs. 76.19%), with statistically significant difference (P 0.05). No obvious adverse drug reaction was observed in both groups. Conclusions Nebulized budesonide plus ribavirin is effective in the treatment of children with bronchiolitis. It has fewer adverse reactions, which is worthy of clinical application.
