Abstract

Al30 as a new kind of aluminum species with 30 aluminum atoms is believed to be a new optimum coagulation species just as Al13.But the technical parameters of high content of Al30 product is absent,to clear the influence of parameters on the product,the species transformation in polyaluminum chloride(PAC)under high temperature circumstance was studied by27Al NMR.Results show that Al30 transforms from Al13 under high temperature circumstance.Al30 production in PAC with aging is found higher than that in PAC without aging.In Al13 solution with high purity,Al14 can be found in the process of Al30 formation whereas it can not be found as monomeric Al is added.Those parameters,such as PAC with basicities of 2.0 to 2.4,Al13 aggregates with basicities below 2.6,dilution followed by aging of commercial PAC,could facilitate Al30 transformation from Al13.The optimum n(Si) /n(Al) for Al30 preparation is 0.05.
