Abstract

Natural wetland ecosystems provide significant benefit to human being. Both ecological and social functions can be fully realized through wetland' s ecological restoration in urban landscape. The integrity of wetland ecosystem, the scientifically based plant community design and the water edge environmental planning are key components in urban wetland ecological design. Three projects, cited as being successful in integrating urban landscape planning and wetland ecology, are (1) the Ames Lake Project in St. Paul, USA, (2) the Wetland Center in London, UK, and (3) the Living Water Garden in Chengdu, China.
