Parameter Features of Foot Pressure in Healthy University Students

Abstract

Objective To explore the peak value of foot plantar pressure and the time to max force and impulse and load rate during the natural walk about normal university students, and to provide evidence for diagnosis, treatment effects diorthosis therapy and sports activities. Methods A total of 82 normal university students with barefoot and normal gait was analyzed by the Footscan USB2 system(RScan, Belgium) by the first step approach. Results The max force existed in the area of heel medial, the second metatarsal and the third metatarsal. The minimal force existed in the area of the toe 2-5 and the fifth metatarsal. There was the same regulation between male and female. The distribution of tie to max force: heel mid footmetatarsalstoes. The load rate of heel was the highest during walking and the load rate of left foot was higher than right foot in male and female. The max impulse existed in the second metatarsal and the third metatarsal and heel medial. The minimum impulse existed in toes 2-5 and mid foot and the fifth metatarsal. Conclusion There are nearly the same results between university students and normal person and in non-diabetic population studied by other researchers in the foot plantar pressure and its distribution. There were different extent difference between left foot and right foot during walking in maximum force and contact area and impulse of the normal university students, but the same foot plantar pressure distribution regulation between the double feet.
