A Study on the Coordination Development of Urbanization and Industrialization

Theoretically,industrialization is the content of economy,and industrialization is the spatial implementation of urbanization.Industrialization and urbanization are dependent on each other and promote each other.Based on the real development in different countries in the world,there are four types of interrelationship in the development process between industrialization and urbanization.However,with a review of the industrialization and urbanization in China and Guizhou,industrialization does not drive the urbanization development synchronously,and the development of urbanization is obviously behind industrialization.In line with the three problems confronting synchronous development between urbanization and industrialization in Guizhou:(i) the big income gap among the urban residents,(ii) the much higher living costs in the urban area and(iii) the institutional obstacles that enhance the difficulty for farmers to go into town and the cost for that,four strategies are put forward: to take every possible means to increase farmers' income and narrow down the income gap between urban residents and rural farmers;to shift the government's focus on public service and investment in the urban area into the rural one;to perfect more quickly the important government policy transmission mechanism and policy support mechanism so as to promote the construction of the market long-term mechanism to increase the income for the farmers in Guiyang;and to work out the system for harmonious development in the urban and the rural areas.
