Abstract
A new traffic sign information processing model was proposed based on the information theory.And the signs' information which drivers accepted was quantified using information entropy.Also a case of the evaluation of traffic sign was presented according to survey data of Changchun drivers' comprehension,which indicated the effectiveness of this method to evaluate the quality of the traffic sign design.The fundamental work provided some knowledge for further improvement of the signs based on drivers' recognition,and it is helpful to promote the ergonomics in the design of traffic signs.Furthermore it offered a good means to select the signs.
