Abstract
A comparison of pharmacokinetics was investigated in 6 healthy crossbred (Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire) pigs following single intramuscular administration (2 5 mg/kg) of two different pH enrofloxacin injections Blood samples were collected at different intervals after administration of the two injections Concentrations of enrofloxacin were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) with a limit of detection of 0 05 μg /ml The enrofloxacin concentration time data were fitted to a one compartment open model with first order absorption after single i m administration of two different pH injections in pigs The main pharmacokinetic parameters of enrofloxacin after single i m of the pH 10 3 and pH 8 3 injections were as follows in pigs, respectively: t1/2 ka 0 25±0 28 h and 0 14±0 05 h;t1/2 ke 4 54±0 63 h and 4 64±0 84 h;t max 0 95±0 70 h and 0 69±0 23 h;C max 0 96±0 16 μg /ml and 0 92±0 29 μg /ml;AUC 7 58±1 10 μg /ml·h and 6 59±1 50 μg /ml·h The results showed that the pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin following single intramuscular administration of two different pH injections were not different significantly (P0 05)
