Value of tissue Doppler Tei index on right ventricular function in patients with diabetes

Objective To investigate the clinical value of tissue Doppler Tei index in the evaluation of right ventricular function in patients with diabetes.Method 33 diabetic patients and 34 healthy subjects served as control group who were examined by conventional echocardiography,the spectrograms were recorded by PW-TDI at the same time about pulse waves tissue Doppler imaging technique of tricuspid annulus of apical four-chamber view.As well as ICT,ET,IRT of the right ventricle were examined by Standard Ⅱ lead,and the Tei index were calculated.The data were analysis and compared by SAS 9.0.Results (1) The Tei index in patients with diabetes increased obviously,the differences compared with control group had statistical significance(P0.01).(2) The linear element analysis showed:the Tei index in the control group had no relationship with age and rhythm of the heart(P0.05),the Tei index in patients with diabetes had positive correlation with age(P0.05),but no relationship with rhythm of the heart(P0.05).Conclusions The Tei index acquired by TDI is simple,sensitive and accurate,and can make a relatively comprehensive evaluation on right ventricular function in patients with diabetes.
