Abstract

Adsorption characteristics of superplasticizers on the surface of cement particles and its effects on the properties of solid-liquid interface and cement hydration are reviewed. The main factors influencing adsorption of superplasticizers such as mineral composition of cement, soluble alkali sulphate salt, addition method and molecular structure are analyzed. Micro-measurement methods usually used in the research of concrete superplasticizers are introduced. Furthermore, the shortages in the research work of superplasticizers are discussed.
