Dancing with Shackles——Interpretation of the psychological characteristics of the literary artists in Yuan dynasty

Yuan dynasty is a special period of great mixing of different ethnic groups,in which,the whole society is dominated by national oppression and resistance.Artists at that time,at the low position in the society,used to express their resentment and complaint as well as the subjective interests through painting.Against this backdrop,they came to know the self-thought and self-protection,and had a strong desire for freedom,for dependence to the nature and the seclusion life.In view of this kind of spirit,the artists in Yuan dynasty pursued elegance while against vulgarity.They created a new field of literary painting in Chinese history through breaking the traditional restriction and bringing the individuality freedom into full play.
