Humble Opinions on the Development and Significance of Taixue in Song Dynasty

In the history,“Taixue”(it means noble school) was special up for the children of feudal officials and nobles.However,Taixue in Song Dynasty involved the common people in the scope of enrollment,Wang Anshi reformed the Taixue education system to execute the way of “SanShe”,therefore Taixue was characterized with a strict system of selection,examination,rewards and penalties. Taixue was in the period of great prosperity in the times of Huizong,Song Dynasty. The article preliminarily inquires into the developing course,reasons and significance of Taixue in Song Dynasty.
