The Scenery Has the Boundary——Song Yuan Landscape Painting Composition Evolution and Drawing Thought

Song and Yuan Dynasty period is the most important historical stage in landscape painting development history in China.The development of landscape painting mainly goes through the three stages:Northern Song,Southern Song and Yuan, and the form of composition of a picture also experiences several radical turns:turning from the formatted panoramic composition of picture mainly showing natural landscape in Northern Song Dynasty to the section landscape type and edge-corner type compo- sition of picture mainly showing local landscape in Southern Song Dynasty,and finally to the concise level and far picture compo- sition form in Yuan Dynasty,consequently forming the most perfect stage of landscape painting.The different compositions of landscape picture indicate different painting aesthetic thoughts,from the Confucian School to Taoist school,then turning to Zen Buddhism thought.With the instruction functions of Confucian,Buddhism and Taoist aesthetic thoughts upon landscape painting in different periods,we can taste the painting aesthetics showing from landscape painting in different periods in the macro-view point,and also can feel the penetration upon landscape paining from cultural consciousness in different stages as well as spirit circulating of Chinese culture shown in different artistic conceptions.
