Abstract
This paper elaborated the formation mechanism of the tooth profile of the spherical involute spiral bevel gear,and based on the mathematical model theory of the spiral bevel gear,a method of precisely generating the spherical involute of the bevel gear with functions of UG expression and ideas of parameterization modeling was proposed.In addition,a whole 3-D model of the spherical involute spiral bevel gear was set up with such operations of transformation,sweeping and rotating etc.The study not only provides a designing idea and method for the design and manufacture of the spiral bevel gear,but provides references for other parameterization modeling of parts with complex surfaces.
