How to Develop and Utilize the GIS Web Browser

Abstract

This paper introduces the constituent structure,applied technique/method and data model of the Web GIS,expounds the development and utilization of GIS Web browser based on Java Applet,and points out that the distributive computational environment based on Web can make the traditional GIS realize its opening target probably for satisfying the demand of the data sharing and interoperating,and through the analytical comparison of the implementation mode of the Web GIS(CGI,Plug-in,Java),puts forward an ideal scheme for the GIS data distribution.
