Abstract

Objective To investigate expression of topoisomerase Ⅱ alpha( TopoⅡα) in breast cancer tissues and its relationship with anthracycline chemosensitivity. Methods Expression of TopoⅡα in 68 cases of breast cancer paraffin specimen were detected by immunohistochemistry( IHC) staining and its relationship with anthracycline sensitivity were analyzed by statistics. Results Efficacy of anthracycline in the TopoⅡα positive group was higher than that of the TopoⅡα negative group,P 0.05.Patients who responded to anthracycline antineoplastic drugs had high expression of TopoⅡα,while efficacy of anthracycline chemotherapy was not related with expression of TopoⅡα.Conclusion TopoⅡαmay act as an index to evaluate the biological behavior and prognosis of breast cancer, and predict the sensitivity of anthracycline drugs to chemotherapy.
