Abstract

A red tide in Tong'an Bay of Xiamen Seas during July 26th to August 7th in 2011 was reported in this paper.Hydrological meteorological, chemistry and biological factors were analyzed in the occurrence of red tide. The results showed that this red tide with the area of 105 km2 was a hybrid triphase red tide, and the red tide species included Skeletonema costatum,Akashiwo sanguinea,Chaetoceros sp.The basic conditions of this tide were eutrophication, continuous high air temperature and the stable water body of neap tide, the air pressure due to Luotan typhoon and sharp decline of salinity due to rainfall also contributed to this red tide.
