Social risk assessments of the Hutoumao landslide in Xi′an City,Shaanxi,China

This paper reviews the history and present status of landslide social risk assessments.On that basis, and from the concept on the social risk assessments, the paper summarizes the assessment methods and process of the assessments and uses the methods to assess the social risk of the Hutoumao landslide.Then the social risk value of the landslide is calculated and a F-N curve is got.By referring to the social risk allowable criteria of Hong Kong and Australia, the landslide social risk is assessed and the conclusion that all the social risks are above the allowable boundary.Finally, the cause for a plane tendency of the F-N curve of the landslide is analyzed.
