On the Characteristics and Value of the Miao Folk Sport of Lusheng Horse Competition

Abstract

By use of the ethnology,sports historiography and sociological methods,a probe is made into the Miao Lusheng horse competition in Rongshui,Guangxi.The results show that what makes the sport so popular and spread from generation to generation lies in its universality and unique character,which has formed in a particular history context and served as the spiritual ballast for the active and positive Miao people.It is rooted in a solid and profound mass foundation and is a unique sport in the country.
