Strategy on Breeding of Drought Resistance in Maize

Maize is one of the largest water-requirement upland crops,while drought is one of the main abiotic stress factors which limit maize production seriously.Drought is the most important factor of causing low and unstable maize yield in all over the world and China.By analyzing the significance of maize drought-resistance breeding,this paper has summarized the heredity basis of breeding,the ways of choosing and identifying breeding materials,the popular methods of breeding for drought resistance of maize.
