Abstract
A series of Ru-Zn catalyst for selective hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexene were prepared. It was found that a novel catalyst not only has higher activity and selectivity but also has stable crystal structure and good separating property. The effect of different Zn/Ru ratios and the stability of the catalyst has been investigated in detail. And the variation of Zn/Ru ratios resulted in the remarkable variation of activity and selectivity of the catalysts. Compared with the pure Ru catalyst, introducing of Zn is favorable of enhancing cyclohexene selectivity of the catalysts. Cyclohexene yield reaches 48.3% at 15 min when Zn/Ru ratio is 8/92. And characterization of the catalyst was carried out by means of XRD and BET etc. XRD indicates that ruthenium and zinc form solid solution and Zn species exists in the catalyst.
