Abstract

Jinliangyou 36, i.e., HS 3/946, is a newly developed two line indica hybrid rice combination. HS 3 is a photoperiod sensitive genic male sterile line derived from the cross of KS 14 and M901S and purified by way of anther culture. 946 is an early maturing indica rice line. The combination shows the characteristics of large panicle and strong yield heterosis. It was registered and released to commercial production in Fujian in 2000. The major techniques for its cultivation and hybrid seed production were also introduced in the paper.
