Application of "U" type intubation in reconstruction of lacrimal passage

Abstract

Objective:To eva luate the effect of U type intubation in reconstruction of lacrimal passage.Methods:21 cases of lacrimal canalicular lacerations,3 cases of stricture of lacrimal punctum and 14 cases of nasolacrimal duct obstruction were treated with U type intubation.Results:The operations were successful in all of 21 cases of lacrimal canalicular lacerations,2 cases in 3 cases of stricture of lacrimal punctum and 11 cases in 14 cases of nasolacrimal duct obstruction.Conclusion:U type intubation is safe,simple and effective in lacrimal passage reconstruction.
