Abstract

Computer or microprocessor has brought great achievements in relaying protection field. Therefore, more expectations are given to the relay protection equipment. In this paper, the functions of the microprocessor based protection to the operation, maintenance, plant or station automation and production innovation are discussed based on the power network operation.
