The Empirical Study on the Relationship of Informatization and Economic Growth—Based on the Statistics of Chongqing

The paper constructs a comprehensive assessment system for Chongqing informatization based on information index method.Using the statistics of Chonging,the paper calculates its information level from 1997 to 2011.Citing the information element to Cobb-Douglas production function and using ridge regression method,the paper empirically analyzes the relationship of Chongqing informatization and economic growth.The result shows,informatization has become an important source of Chongqing's economic growth and it is in the stage of increasing returns to scale.It indicates that the use of informatization to promote Chongqing's economic growth can make a further development.
