Abstract

Aim To assess the value of bronchoscopy in diagnosis of endobronchial tuberculosis(EBTB).Methods 105 cases of EBTB were analysed retrospectively, all the patients diagnoses were confirmed by fiberoptic bronchoscope and pathology. Results In 105 cases of EBTB,male patients 37 cases(35.2%),female patients 68 cases(64.8%),average age(33.2±8.7) year. Before diagnosis,it was usually mistaken for pneumonia, lung cancer, bronchitis, asthma and so on.62(67.0%)cases were positive diagnosed by bronchoscope,64(71.1%) cases were positive diagnosed by bronchoscopic brushing examination. Conclusion Fiberoptic bronchoscope examination plays a key role for the diagnosis of endobronchial tuberculosis. It can confirm not only lung cancer, but also endobronchial tuberculosis.
