New Historicism dose not limit itself to a special stage or a particular theorist of Hermeneutics. In its critical practice. New Historicism integrates the principle of historicity established by ascending Hermeneutics with the critical reflection on historicity developed by descending Hermeneutics. It has derived a methodology of discourse analysis as a solution to the problems of historicity.
