National Cultural Identity:Implications and Structures

National cultural identity,which is an inevitable phenomenon in cultural transitions and cultural fusions,refers to a psychosocial process that the individuals acquire,retain or innovate their own ethnic group cultures.Based on the relevant research on cultural identity,psychological measurement and social cognition theory,this paper explores the essential attributes, basic implications and measuring structures of one' s national cultural identity,which aims to establish the theoretical foundations for conducting measurement research on cultural identity,to grasp the incontestable relationship between one' s cultural identity and its dependent variables,and ultimately to seek for the theoretical and practical value of national cultural identity for racial survival and development as well as for social promotion and harmony
