Abstract
The education of ideology and moral character is an important part of higher education and is one of the important rings in students' quality education. Strengthening the education of ideology and moral character of the students is also the important content in the teaching of college physical education and using the teaching of college physical education to reinforce education of ideology and moral character of the students has special effects. This paper discusses the education of ideology and moral character in modern teaching of physical education from the six aspects of cultivating students' sense of competition and spirit of cooperation, cultivating their excellent psychological quality, cultivating the reforming, innovative and creative thinking, cultivating their law consciousness and social ethics, and cultivating their ability to coordinate interpersonal relationships.
