Abstract

γ-TiAl based alloys are rapidly being developed for elevated temperature applications, due to their high strength, light weight and oxidation resistance. This article discusses the developmental situations of TiAl based alloys technology in the areas of microstructure control, microstructure-properties relation, alloy development, melting and precision forming technique.
