Abstract
Regenerated energy source such as cellulosic biomass have been playing a key role in settling the growing worldwide energy problems.As a substitute of liquid fossil fuel,the application and transformation of cellulosic biomass has the potential of relaxing energy shortage,reducing environment pollution and developing rural economics.In this paper,the characteristics and development of cellulosic ethanol are reviewed and several difficulties in the commercialization of cellulosic ethanol are pointed out.Although the industrialization of celluloic ethanol seems more difficult than imagined,the bio-fuel should be one of the answer to the future energy crisis undoubtly.
