The influence of government supportive behavior on SME's innovation: the role of service intermediates

Small and Medium Enterprises(SME) are always in a weak position in market competition since they are commonly lack of resource,and their development should be supported by the government.At the same time,the SMEs' relationship with service intermediates may also play an important role in their innovation performance.This paper studied the impact of government supportive behavior as well as SMEs' relationship with service intermediates,and empirically demonstrated that government supportive behavior can effectively improve SME's innovation performance and SMEs' relationship with service intermediates can mediate this mechanism.Therefore,managers of SMEs should pay more attention to relationships with both the government and the service intermediates.
