Abstract

The polyphenol in fruits and leaves from Elaeagnus oxcarpa and Elaeagnus moorcroftii was extracted by using acetone, and the antioxidant activities were studied. The scavenging capacities of polyphenol in different materials on hydroxyl free radical, superoxide anion radical and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl were assayed. Meanwhile, the inhibition effect of lipid peroxidation was studied with thiobarbituric acid(TBA)method. The results showed that the polyphenol in green fruit and tender leaf of Elaeagnus oxcarpa had better scavenging capacity on ·OH,O-2·and DPPH· during 8 kinds of material, moreover, the scavenging ratio was above 50%,respectively. And the inhibition effect of lipid peroxidation was higher than other material obviously. Elaeagnus oxcarpa had better antioxidant activities than Elaeagnus moorcroftii in vitro.
