Abstract

Phthalate Esters (PAEs) are an important type of plasticizers, widely used in plastic packaging material, but have certain toxic effects to human. This paper studies the method of detecting the migration of DBP and DPP in plastic packaging into oil by GC. The lab detection limits of both DBP and DPP are 0.20 μg/mL. Results show that the migration rates of DBP and DPP in the three packaging materials of HDPE, PP and PC all increase with temperature and time, with the migration of DPP being easier than DBP. The three plastic materials all have low food safety if used for packing oily food.
