Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between nuclear DNA content?proliferate index? S phase fraction, and pathological grading in brain gliomas. Methods Forty supratentorial brain glioma samples obtained from surgery were treated for pathological grading and flow cytometry. Results There was no significant difference of aneuploid rate among different grade astrocytomas( P 0.05),but the differences of PI and SPF were significant between diploid and aneuploid tumor( P 0.05).There was significant difference of PI between grade Ⅰ?Ⅱ/Ⅲand grade( P 0.05).The difference of SPF between grade Ⅰ?Ⅱand Ⅲ was not significant. It,however, was significant when they were compared with that of grade Ⅳ respectively( P 0.05).Conclusion A more exact judgement about the prognosis could be made according to pathological grading together with DNA content and PI value of astrocytomas.
