Abstract

WiM AX is the most influential Broadband Wireless Access (BW A) technology in the world at present, becoming the focus of the insiders' discussions now. Considering a lot of factors such as the cost of establishing WiMAX network, etc. , it is generally recognized by insiders that the market niche of WiMAX lies in Asia-Pacific Region where China will play a critical role. Therefore China's attitude towards WiMAX will have significant influence over its development in future. This text will give a general introduction and the standard of WiMAX, discuss on the characteristics and advantages of WiMAX technology, and finally make more analysis of the challenges that WIMAX will face to enter into the market in China.
