Abstract
In the design process of mechanical product, many structure and shape of mechanical parts and components are same or similar. Its design calculation and drawing are duplication and inefficient. This paper researches on the programming method to realize the parametric design based on AutoCAD, and presents a gear as an example. By the ActiveX Automation technique, computer can produce a new design project and drawing only by modifying a few parameters.
