Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation between ultrasonography, liver fibrosis biomarkers and pathology in chronic type B hepatitis patients by taking ultrasound-guided liver biopsy results as the standard of liver fibrosis classification.Methods One hundred and forty-two patients with chronic hepatitis type B were enrolled in this study. Liver biopsy was performed after ultrasonography and liver fibrosis biomarkers measurement. The pathological results were compared and analyzed with those of ultrasound and biomarkers. Results Compared with pathological results, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of ultrasound combined with biomarkers in diagnosis of liver fobrosis were 81.8%, 90.8% and 86.6%,respectively. Conclusion Combination of ultrasonography and liver fibrosis biomarkers measurement can improve the evaluation of liver fibrosis, especially severe liver fibrosis or early cirrhosis. It is an important method for case follow up, treatment guidance and prognosis judgment.
