Abstract
Permeable pavement is widely used in some developed countries. As an urban stormwater management technique, permeable pavement can not only reduce stormwater runoff volume and slow the speed of runoff,but also control some urban non-point source pollution effectively and improve water quality of the runoff. Based on studies in recent years,highlight was given on permeable pavement in controlling urban non-point source pollution from improvement water quality of the runoff. Literature review demonstrated that permeable pavement is effective in removing TSS,phosphorus and heavy metals form stormwater runoff,while its nitrogen removal effectiveness is not stable. Finally,promising research directions of permeable pavement for development and application were predicted.
