Abstract

The self-assembly behavior for amphiphilic block copolymers in selective solvent has resulted in their good application prospective for the preparation of nanomaterials. The types and characteristics for amphiphilic block copolymers which could be used to prepare semiconductor nanocrystals is reviewed. The discussion was based on the fundamental structures and self-assembly properties for amphiphilic block copolymers. We focused on the discussion of preparation methods and different formation mechanisms for semiconductor nanoparticles synthesized by using amphiphilic block copolymers as template at different reaction conditions. At the same time,we also forecast the application of amphiphilic block copolymers for the preparation of functional nano-materials in the future.
