Abstract
Camelina(Camelina sativa L.Crantz) is an ancient oil crop.In this paper,we first briefly reviewed the research progress on camelina cultivation and breeding, then focused on the oil and protein in camelina seeds, including oil content and fatty acid composition, protein content and amino acid composition,as well as lipid active ingredients. The utilization of oil in human health or biodiesel, protein cake for feed and other potential uses are also reviewed. Finally,we analyzed major factors that limit the development of camelina and offered our recommendations for effective future research and utilization of camelina oilseeds in China.
