Plasma aldosterone concentration changes in patients with pheochromocytoma

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the changes of plasma aldosterone concentration in patients with phaochromocytoma.Methods:Plasma aldosterone concentrations were detected by radio-immunoassay.Blood samples were acquired in the morning when patients were stay in bed and after 2 h activity.Results:(1)The levels of systolic and diastolic blood pressure had no difference between patients with phaochromocytoma and essential hypertension(EH);(2)Both concentrations of plasma aldosterone of upright and stay in bed were higher in patients with phaochromocytoma than that of EH patients(P0.05).Conclusion:The concentration of plasma aldosterone is higher in patients with phaochromocytoma than that of essential hypertension patient.It is valuable in diagnosis of phaochromocytoma.
