A Brief Discussion about Li Qingzhao's On Ci Poetry

In her On Ci Poems, Li Qingzhao outlined the developmental history of Ci poems, commented on Ci poets of the older and same generations, and put forward the important idea that Ci is different from poetry, which is of great significance in the criticism of Ci study. The purpose of On Ci Poems is to establish some criteria for the then people's writing Ci and to emphasize the salient features of Ci. This book was an inevitable product of the popularity of Su Shi's and Liu Yong's Cis in the Northern Song Dynasty.
